Garden Drainage Solutions That Actually Work

Standing water, waterlogged lawns and poor drainage damage your garden and can affect your property. Dalkey Landscaping installs French drains, channel drains, soakaways and pipe repairs throughout Dublin to solve water problems properly.

Common Drainage Problems

Dublin gardens are prone to drainage issues β€” heavy clay soil, poor ground levels, blocked or broken pipes, and surfaces that direct water toward the house instead of away from it. Left untreated, these problems get worse over time.

We diagnose the cause of the problem and install the right solution. Whether it is a simple French drain along a boundary wall or a complete drainage system with channel drains and soakaways, we get the water moving in the right direction.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common causes include heavy clay soil, poor ground levels, blocked drains or broken underground pipes. We assess the site and identify the specific cause before recommending a solution.

A French drain is a gravel-filled trench containing a perforated pipe. It collects groundwater and redirects it to a soakaway or suitable outlet.

In many cases we can install drainage around the edges of existing paving. Where we do need to lift paving, we re-lay it after the drainage work is complete.

We use a combination of visual inspection, water testing and careful excavation to locate damaged sections. Once found, we replace the affected pipe and backfill properly.

We connect to existing drainage systems where appropriate. For surface water, we typically direct it to soakaways rather than the mains sewer system.
